You start Slither Arena as a very short snake in a shared arena filled with food and other players. Eating orbs makes you longer, and length is your score. There is no timer and no finish line: a round lasts exactly as long as you avoid running your head into another snake.

The rule that shapes everything is asymmetric. Your body is harmless to you but lethal to anyone who touches it, and the same is true in reverse — so nobody wins by chasing. Kills come from cutting someone off: crossing in front of a moving snake so that its head has nowhere to go. When a snake dies it drops its entire length as food, which is why a single good cut-off can be worth more than a minute of careful eating.

Boost is the second half of the game. Holding boost makes you noticeably faster, which is how cut-offs happen at all, but it burns your own length while active. Every boost is therefore a bet: you are spending score for position, and if the cut-off fails you simply gave away mass for nothing.

Length also works against you. A long snake is a large obstacle to steer, corners become commitments, and reversing into your own body is a very real way to end a run. Your best length is saved to the all-time leaderboard, a weekly ranking resets so newer players can compete for the top three, and equipped snake skins from the shop are shown in the arena.

• Grow small before you fight. A short snake has almost nothing to drop and nothing to threaten with. Spend the opening on quiet food away from crowds.
• Never chase a head. Following someone puts your head near their body, which is exactly how you die. Aim for the empty space in front of them instead.
• Boost with a purpose. Boosting to travel is a slow leak of your own score. Save it for a cut-off you have already lined up, or for escaping one.
• Take the outside line when long. Big snakes turn poorly. Hugging the edge of a fight lets you collect the food from other people's crashes without risking your own length.
• Collect immediately after a kill. Dropped mass attracts everyone nearby, so a slow, cautious approach usually means someone else eats your reward.

Am I playing against real people?

The arena mixes live players with bots so that a round is always populated, even at quiet times.

Why did I get shorter while boosting?

Boost costs length while it is active. That trade-off is deliberate: speed is powerful, so it has a price.

Do I need an account?

Only to save a score and use snake skins. You can play without signing in, but your length is not stored and you are not eligible for weekly rewards.
